The State Committee of Statistics reported that the results of the I half-year of 2007 had shown radical change of focus of the Ukrainian export from the European market toward the Russian one.

According to the information of the committee, in spite of growth of deliveries to the countries of Europe for 31%, this market share decreased in the structure of the Ukrainian export, and the countries of CIS became the main trade partner of Ukraine.
As well as in the first half of 2006, in the I half-year of this year the most growth of deliveries of the Ukrainian commodities was fixed in the countries of CIS (for 60,6%; to Russia for 61,1%) and Europe (31,4%). The Ukrainian products fixed the positions also in the countries of Asia and Africa, the growth of deliveries was for 16% and 15% accordingly. At the same time falling of deliveries of the Ukrainian products in the countries of North and South America (for 6,6%) proceeded because of sharp diminishment of export to the USA (on 16,8%).

In opinion of experts, these information testifies the further loss by Ukraine of most foreign markets and increasing of its dependence on Russia. “Ukraine can not protect the commodity producers at the markets, where they earlier felt comfortably, in the first place in the countries of Asia, North Africa, the USA and Latin America because of Chinese producers activity”, Mr. Yurchishin says. “When in 2003 the stake of ES in the structure of the Ukrainian export exceeded the stake of CIS, it was extolled as large achievement, that the Ukrainian producers attained such quality of products, to be claimed at the European market, – reminds the deputy director of the center CASE-Ukraine Vitaly Vavrischuk.- But the last information shows, that their ability to improve further the quality of products is exaggerated”.

The same situation is with some other countries of former USSR, the economies are closely connected with the economy of the Russian federation. So the economy of the RF has additional potential for the use in the economy growing, the commodities of middle quality will be exported in neighboring countries (CIS). The RF has the economic instruments of pressure on political power in some neighboring states. It is an additional factor at development of the economy, and support of the producers.
