Actuality January 17, 2008
Russian Federation (RF) government seriously intends to carry out a breakout in nanotechnology development. By 2015 the sales volume of the Russian nanotech products will total, probably, RUR 900 bln a year. About this reported the source in the RF government.
According to the source, "Russia possesses sufficient scientific and staff potential for accelerated development of works in nanotech field". Fundamental, searching researches and development of nanotechnology carry out more than 150 scientific organizations. Thus, about 75 Russian organizations produce and realize nanotech products for more than RUR 7 bln a year.
To give a powerful impulse to the development of nanotechnologies is called the Program of this industry development, which, according to the agency interlocutor, "is already developed and passed to the government". As the source hopes, it can be approved already at the end of 1Q 2008.
The program realization is intended for two stages. During the first - by 2011 will be formed the sector of researches and effective system of commercialization of intellectual property products in the nanotechnology field. As expected, during these years will take place processes of enhancement of already existent industrial productions. On the second stage - 2012-2015 years - will be created conditions "for the scale increase of productions and commercialization volumes, entrance to the world market". So, by 2015 the stake of the Russian nanotechnology products on the world high-tech market can already make 3% (now is less than 1%).
Particular program realization of the nanotech development, according to the source, does not require additional financial facilities, as it is a "framework, coordinating and implies not a branch, but network principle of work". It goes about creation of associations of science and business organizations to decide particular projects.
The Russian president Vladimir Putin warned the government that money, appropriated for nanotechnologies, should be spent for the purpose specified and the state will "strictly watch after it". Thus, the president expressed the opinion that for nanotechnologies development market mechanisms are not enough, an administrative resource is needed.
Nanotechnology financing is planned at the level of RUR 130 bln, and by 2015 the volume of financing only of production infrastructure of nanotechnology development attains RUR 180 bln.
