In January, 2008 Russia increases the import of main food products

According to the customs statistics data, the meat import to the country (in kind, except for poultry meat) in January grew up to 94 100 tons (by $239,7 mln). In January, 2007
the import totaled 89 000 tons, by $226,6 mln. The poultry meat import increased from 67 100 tons in January, 2007
up to 76 500 tons for the same year
period. The deliveries' cost grew up to $ 66 mln against $50,7 mln respectively.
According to Federal Customs Service (FCS) data, the fish import increased up to 63 400 tons (by $101,2 mln) against 55 900 tons (by $91,5 mln), coffee – up to 4 600 tons (by $12,5 mln) against 2 800 tons (by $6,9 mln), citrus fruits – up to 173 400 tons (by $119,9 mln) against 153 800 tons (by $104,3 mln), condensed milk and dairy cream – up to 2 100 tons (by 7,3 mln) against 0,1 thousand tons (by 0,2 mln). Butter supplies grew up to 7 700 tons (by $22,5 mln) against 6 500 tons (by $11,7 mln), sunflower oil – up to 6 600 tons (by $10,2 mln) against 5 500 tons (by $5 mln) in January of the last year.
Moreover, the raw sugar import was down up to 23 300 tons (by $8,4 mln) against 188 800 tons (by $63,5 mln).
According to the FCS data, the cost volume of food and agricultural raw materials import grew by 16,2% in January, 2008.
In the commodity import pattern from the Commonwealth of Independent States the stake of food products and raw material for their production totaled 14,7% against 18,3% in January, 2007.
