Tatar authorities intensify the negotiations with the leading world oil companies concerning exploitation of viscous oil (bitumen) deposits on the territory of Republic. The deputy chairman of Gazprom board Alexander Ananenkov confirmed this at the working meeting with the governor participation Aman Tuleev. In January, 2008 Russia increases the import of main food products

According to the customs statistics data, the meat import to the country (in kind, except for poultry meat) in January grew up to 94 100 tons (by $239,7 mln). In January, 2007 the import totaled 89 000 tons, by $226,6 mln. The poultry meat import increased from 67 100 tons in January, 2007 up to 76 500 tons for the same year period. The deliveries’ cost grew up to $ 66 mln against $50,7 mln respectively.

Russia’s industrial production surge in January-February, 2008

Russia’s industrial production for January-February, 2008 grew by 6% as compared to the analogical last year’s period, as Rosstat reports. In January-February, 2007 industrial production growth rate totaled 7% as compared to the analogical period of 2006. In February, 2008 the Russian Federation industrial production increased by 7,5% as compared to February, 2007 and by 3% – as compared to January, 2008

About ready-to-eat food market in Russia

On the Russian market of ready-to-eat food is already observed stagnation for several years. However, it does not mean the lack of internal dynamics. Leadership in this segment passed from “global” noodle and puree to “national” porridges and ready-to-eat soups. Growth indices of ready-to-eat food market were either minimum or quite negative for the last years. The reason of such stagnation of rather prospective market is a saturation of medium and low price segments and absolute underdevelopment of premium segment.

Russian government made oil supplies through the pipeline to China more advantageous

Federal Tariffs Service (FTS) submitted for the government consideration the tariff rate for oil pumping through the pipeline system Eastern Siberia – Pacific Ocean (ESPO pipeline) – $38,8 per ton from Taishet to Skovorodino (end points of the first ESPO pipeline queue). Experts mark that with such tariff oil supplies to China become more profitable for oilmen, than to another countries of Asia-Pacific Region (APR), although it was planned to make them equally effective from the start.

Russia forces construction of South Stream pipeline

Russia forces construction of South Stream gas pipeline. The agreement between Russia and Hungary about the cooperation for creation of gas pipeline for transit of natural gas through Hungarian territory was signed in Moscow. The document, foreseeing joining of Hungary to the project of South Stream gas transmission system, was signed by the head of the Ministry of Industry and Energy Viktor Khristenko and the minister for finance of Hungary Janos Verezs in presence of the Russian president Vladimir Putin, head of Hungarian government Ferenc Gyurcsany and first vice-prime minister Dmitry Medvedev

Russia made decision about complete restriction of crab catch in Far-Eastern seas

On the past in Vladivostok the Far-Eastern Scientific and Trade Board (FESTB) was taken the decision about complete restriction of crab catch in Far-Eastern seas. “The very important, though disputable decision, is taken about stopping of official Russian crab fishery on Far East”, quoted in the press-service of city administration the words of Irshat Shaykhov, the minister of fish industry of Kamchatka Territory. Commenting this decision, Shaykhov added that “now all crab on the Japanese market will be only illegal, and it will be simply impossible to hide the stake of poacher catches from the public”.
