Russia might freeze grain export, as British newspaper Financial Times writes. According to the version of this periodical, this measure can be applied because of the fact that close to December State Duma elections the bread prices are kept up.
On August, 10 the Minister of Agriculture of Russia Aleksey Gordeyev said, that authorities are not going to carry on grain interventions on home market because of excess of grain. As he said, it was threshed 40 million tons of wheat, or for 8 million tons more than in 2006. The minister promised, that this problem would be re-examined in September.

The French company “Eurotek Ltd co.” will extract oil and gas at the Yamal. As it was reported today in the territorial agency on subsurface management on the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District (YNAD), the company has won the auction on the right to use the reserves of Zapadno-Kaminnomiskiy and Ladertoyskiy hydrocarbonic areas. The reserves of Zapadno-Kaminnomiskiy area, as evaluated by specialists, make 9 million tons of oil, 24 billions of cubic gas meters, 3 million tons of gas condensate. The extracted reserves of hydrocarbon of Ladertoyskiy area make 2,7 million tons of oil, 2, 915 billions of cubic gas meters. The winner is given the right to use the bowels of areas with the purpose of geological exploration, prospecting and extraction of hydrocarbon raw material for a term of 25 years, including the geological exploration of bowels within 5 years.

“Commodity turnover of Russia and China can exceed $40 billions in 2007 against $33,38 billions in 2006”, reported Boris Titov, the chairman of Russian part of Russian-Chinese business council, at the press conference. “The structure of mutual trade continues to remain unbalanced with predominance of the large stake of energy vector and raw materials”, he acknowledged. The experts of International Monetary Fund came to the conclusion that the Russian GDP growth will make 7 percent this year. And though it is 0,3 percent below the prediction of the Russian economic departments – the Treasury Department and the Ministry of Economic Development – it is higher than previous estimations of IMF.

If to believe state statistics, for seven months of 2007 Russians became richer almost for 12% as compared to a similar period of the last year. These data were given by Rosstat (the Federal service of state statistics). Only it is doubtful whether the population will believe these figures: according to independent researches, every second Russian reproaches the government for inability to cope with falling of his incomes.
