In the Omsk Research and Development Institute of Technology, Control and Diagnostics (OAO “NIITKD”) was invented and introduced into production
a unique technology of surface cleaning by means of dry ice.
It is possible to clean any surfaces by the method invented by Omsk scientists.
The method provides production of dry ice granules and their contact with the work surface. The temperatures’ difference results in the burst of granules and
the emerging burst wave functions as a cleaner.
“This invention can be applied to electric motors cleaning. Unlike traditional methods of sand or shot cleanings, dry ice better copes with the task and at the same time doesn’t scratch a surface”, explains Nikolai Makarenko, the deputy director of OAO “NIITKD”.
The specialists of Russian defense enterprises and producers of automobile tyres already took interest in the new invention for which cleaning of molds from rubber residues remained
the main headache until now.
Authorship of the new technology belongs to the research group under the guidance of Alexandr Burakov.
Omsk innovators offer two production methods of cleaning depending on particular conditions: one – by means of the automatic chamber, ano
ther – in the manual mode.
From the beginning of the year the specialists of OAO “NIITKD” patented 20 inventions.
Some are already introduced into production.
One of their “know-hows” is control technology of locomotives at the dist
ance, which permits not only to watch after the actions of engineer but also to operate a locomotive.
