Coca-Cola Company began producing kvass

In the Samara shops there appeared kvass “Mug and tun” produced by Penza factory “Samko” for Coca-Cola.
On tags there are the trademarks “Natural food” and “Natural fermentation”, which the largest world producer of soft drinks tries now to register in “Ruspatent”.
According to the words of press secretary of Coca-Cola Vladimir Kravtsov, this is a trial lot and to the end of year it will not be bottled anymore. Presently the firm looks for partners for renewal of production in 2008.
According to experts, by 2010 the company can become one of the leaders of Russian market of kvass, the volume of which reached 23 million deciliters by 2006 (its 60,76 million gallons ). Now, according to the data “Borodino firm”, the largest players are “Ochakovo”, “Borodino”, and also “Pershin” and “Deka”.
It was reported in the middle of July of the current year, that the company had applied for a registration of two kvass brands in Russia. The question was about signs “Natural food” and “Natural fermentation”. At the same time in June, 2005 “Ruspatent” refused to “Deka” the registration of the word-combination “Natural fermentation”, as this combination is “the term of technology and can mislead the consumer as for the quality and properties of the product”.
13 factories are owned by the Coca-Cola in Russia. In the general world turnover of the company about one and a half milliard of dollars from 24 milliard of dollars, as specialists consider, is the share of the Russian market.
