Scientific production association of the special materials in Saint Petersburg created bullet-proof vests for working dogs.
The high cost of training of working dogs impelled specialists to develop and begin the actual tests of the dog proof vests “Nord”, intended for protection of dogs from splinters and bullets.
A few years ago the separate company of the mine clearing of Leningrad command brilliantly showed itself at the mine clearing in Chechnya (former war point, local conflict). A personnel was provided with the proof vests “Module” – also the products of Scientific production association of the special materials. The working mine-search dogs of district are now provided with proof vests.
The special, more increasing part is assigned to the four-footed helpers. A new development, as evaluated by specialists, will allow to raise efficiency of their use in various conditions of educational and battle activity of troops. A number of the tactical-special studies on the base of the field engineer company of Leningrad command showed, that dogs quickly got used to the proof vests. Trainings showed, that the working capacity of dogs went down insignificantly.

In Saint Petersburg the pre-production models of other products are also developed, including overalls. They protect paws, trunk and head of dog from lesion of glass, wreckages of fabricated metals, falling of different objects, other negative lesions of environment in various conditions, including during performance of educational-urgent and counterterrorist tasks.
