New electric locomotives of Russia

At the exhibition “Highway – 2007” specialists and public at large were shown new prospective locomotives.
Guests saw the freight electric locomotive of a new generation 2ES6 (2ЭС6) of «Ural railroad engineering industry plant» and diesel locomotive TGM6D (ТГМ6Д) of PLC «Lyudinov diesel locomotive engineering industry plant» production.
Freight dc electric locomotive 2ES6 (2ЭС6) presented at the fair is the second locomotive of a new generation with a commutator traction engine made at the Ural railroad engineering industry plant. The prototype model of electric locomotive presently passes certification tests and is really considered to be a special sign, or symbol of industrial potential and rapid development of the Middle Ural.
The large-scale project of designing from scratch of own freight locomotive instead of out-of-date model was under the control of the governor of Sverdlovsk region Edward Rossel. “The great number of brand new decisions which will radically improve working conditions of engine operator, considerably cut down operating costs of our locomotive, improve reliability and road safety,” the head of region said.
At the exhibition «Highway – 2007» diesel locomotive TGM6D (ТГМ6Д) of PLC «Lyudinov diesel locomotive engineering industry plant» production is also presented. It is used as a shunting engine at the enterprises of railway industry, and operated at industrial and mining companies.
These developments are in great demand without seeing which is supported by the state. Right not the state makes large investments in development and reequipment of railway infrastructure.
