Russian Pharmacy Chain 36,6 reported that in Q3 2007 it acquired nine pharmacy chains

OAO Pharmacy Chain “36,6” reported that in Q3 2007 it acquired nine pharmacy chains: “ZEM Pharm”, “Nasha Apteka” (“Our pharmacy”), ASN, “Sigma”, “Firma IKA”, “Donluv”, ALS, “Kompanyon” and “Ekoros Pharm”. In total they include 120 pharmacies, their total turnover in 2006 is about $24,8 millions.  Taking into account these acquisitions, “36,6” now includes 1090 pharmacies. And acquisition of the “Kompanyon”, “Nasha Apteka” and ASN chains allowed “36,6” to operate in three new regions — Stavropol region, Vladimirskaya and Ivanovskaya Territories.

The most meaningful acquisition of “36,6” became Moscow “ZEM Pharm”, that includes 15 pharmacies with a profit about $15 millions in 2006.  It is an expensive acquisition: “ZEM Pharm” owns the majority of premises, they are all effectually located and “36,6” acquired it for about $25 millions. “ZEM Pharm” aspired to work in low price brackets competing with pharmdiscounter “SamsonPharma”. It allowed to have a stable traffic of loyal consumers and “36,6” got the promoted sales’ points, an expert adds.

“36,6” opened 32 pharmacies, but closed 16 because of unprofitability. The consolidated sales of OAO according to the results of nine months of 2007 totaled $592 millions The sales of Veropharm manufacture for the accounting period totaled $92,9 millions. The “Daughter” of “36,6” — the European Medical Center (EMC) -  made $18,7 millions.
Authorization of “36,6” capital to the RTS stock market makes about $604 millions.

Debts
As of the end of the first 9 months of 2007, the net debt of Pharmacy Chain “36.6” stood at $274.3 millions.
As of the end of the first 9 months of 2007, Veropharm’s debt stood at $23.9 millions.
